Shraddha is doing well in her studies. She likes English and finds mathematics difficult. She wants to be a teacher when she grows up.

 

She helps her family by doing some household chores. She loves to jump rope and hide and seek.

 

Her father does labor work and sells seasonal fruit on the street. Her mother is housewife. They are originally from Okhaldhunga but moved to Kathmandu. They live in a rented room. Their financial condition is very poor.

Udhir is a very active boy. He loves playing marbles and ball with his friends. He can read

and write simple sentences in English and

Nepali. He cannot recognize numbers yet. He likes drawing and coloring.

His parents are illiterate. His father lost his leg

in a bus accident and is unable to work. His mother does labour work. The family also recently lost their elder son in an accident.

The parents have expressed financial difficulties and appreciates any help with their sons education.

Anjan has a shy nature. He prefers indoor activities to outdoor activities.

He can read and  write simple sentences in Nepali and English. His favorite subject is Science and shows some difficulties in math.

His father is literate and is looking for a job. His mother is illiterate and does house chores.

His parents have expressed financial difficulties and is happy that their son is being considered for sponsorship.

Ayusha is friendly with her friends but shy with
her teachers. She can recognize some numbers
and alphabets. She is not able to read and write
yet. She loves to play with dolls.

Her parents are literate. Her father lost hearing
and speaking ability in an accident. But he did
graduate from deaf school and is now working as
assistant accountant in the same school.
Her mother is still looking for a job.

The family's main source of income is
through renting part of their house and from her
fathers job.

The family is grateful that their daughter is
being selected to be sponsored soon.

Mausam has very keen interest in studying. His favorite subject is English and Math. He handwriting is very neat. He wants to be a doctor when he grows up.

 

His mother is a housewife and his father does manual work in a steel factory in India. He sends money home once a year.

 

Financially it will be a big relief if Mausam is sponsored.

Namrata wants to be a doctor when she grows up. She shows keen interest in studying. She helps her mother by taking care of her siblings. Her favorite subject is Science and she finds Math difficult.

 

Her father's income from government job is the only source of income. Her mother is illiterate and does house work and takes care of the

family.

 

They reside in a two room house which they

own. They use one room as kitchen and other as bedroom. The house is poorly ventilated.

Kishor talks gently with his teachers and friends. he loves to play football. His aim in life is to be a doctor so that he can take care of the poor and sick people.

 

His parents are illiterate and does labor work. His father left home leaving his pregnant mom behind. Due to financial difficulties, his mother wanted to enroll him in public school, but Kishor refused to go to public school because of poor quality education.

 

His mother is happy that Kishor has this chance of being sponsored and hopes that someone will soon sponsor Kishor.
 

Monika wants to be a doctor in future. She loves

to wear pink frock. She loves playing table tennis

basketball and jump rope.

 

She helps around in the house by doing house chores. Her father works in India but there has not been any communication from him for long time. They are originally from Morang. They moved to Kathmandu due to family problems. Her mother financially supports her by working

as an orderly in an office.

Muna is a cheerful little girl with very keen interest in learning new things. She actively

participates in all the activities done in class.

 

Muna can read and write simple sentences. She

can count up to one hundred. She prefers

writing to reading. Her best subject is science as

it has lots of pictures. Her aim is to be a teacher.

 

Her father is a truck driver and works in a stone

mine. He is alcoholic and spends most of his money on alcohol. Her mother does some labor work as well. Her mother is worried as his husband does not support them well and worries about Muna's education.
